What types of vehicles do you offer for rent?
We specialise in renting utes, vans, SUVs, American trucks and electric scissor lifts. The majority of our fleet is commercial and perfect for tradespeople, including carpenters, electricians, plumbers and handymen.
Can I choose the exact model of the vehicle I rent?
Yes! We guarantee the exact model you book, so you get the right vehicle for your needs – no surprises. And if what you booked is unavailable, we’ll upgrade you to a better model at no extra cost.
Where can I pick up my rental vehicle?
We have pickup locations in Epping, Coburg, Bundoora and Ringwood for your convenience.but please keep in mind although we aim to offer you your chosen location, we prioritize your choice of vehicle first.
Do your utes come with additional trade-friendly features?
Absolutely! Our utes come equipped with ladder racks, lockable storage for your tools, roof racks, tow bars and electric trailer brakes to support all your work needs.
Are your vehicles new and well-maintained?
Yes! We exclusively rent only new vehicles with less than 15,000km that are well-maintained for reliability, safety and performance.
What happens if my rental vehicle breaks down?
No worries! We provide FREE 24/7 roadside assistance for peace of mind – so you are never stranded.
Can I rent a vehicle for a short-term or long-term period?
Yes! We offer flexible rental options – whether you need a vehicle for just a day, a week, or even several months. Plus, we offer special rates for long-term rentals.
Do I need a special license to rent a Ute, Van, American truck or a scissor lift?
For most of our vehicles, a standard driver’s license is sufficient. with a minimum age of 21 and the American trucks a minimum age of 25. However, some vehicles and scissor lifts may require specific licenses.
Can I tow a trailer with my rental ute?
Yes! Many of our utes and American trucks come with tow bars and most are equipped with electric trailer brakes, making them perfect for towing trailers, caravans or work equipment.
How do I book a rental vehicle?
Booking is easy! You can reserve your vehicle online, over the phone or send a text.
Are there any age or license restrictions for renting a vehicle?
You must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid full driver’s license to rent most vehicles. The F-150 American truck has a minimum age requirement of 25
Do you offer insurance coverage with the rental?
Yes, all our vehicles include basic insurance coverage. For added protection, you can choose the premium protection package during the booking process.
Can I take the rental vehicle interstate?
Yes, our rentals can be used interstate, but you must notify us in advance so we can ensure the necessary coverage.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards, debit cards and EFT bank transfers for payments.
NOTE: Debit cards must be Visa or Mastercard /Credit cards will incur a small surcharge .
Do I need to pay a bond or are there any additional charges when booking with Tradie Rentals?
Yes, all bookings with Tradie Rentals require a refundable security bond to secure your vehicle. This bond is fully refundable within 24 hours after drop-off, provided the vehicle is returned in line with the rental terms & conditions. Any additional charges—such as damage, fuel, or late return fees—will be deducted from the bond before the remaining balance is refunded.
Please note: Credit card charges may apply at the time of booking or payment.
What do I need to bring at the time of picking up the vehicle?
At the time of pick-up, you must present the following mandatory items, all in the same name. These are mandatory requirements—no exceptions:
1. A physical valid driver’s license (no copies or digital versions accepted)
2. One additional form of identification (e.g., Medicare card)
3. A credit card (debit cards are not accepted)
Failure to provide any of these items will result in cancellation of the booking
Can someone else collect the vehicle on behalf of the person who made the booking?
No, only the person listed on the rental contract and who completed the payment is permitted to collect the vehicle. This is to ensure identity verification and compliance with rental terms & conditions.
How can I make sure I get the vehicle I want?
The best way to secure the exact vehicle you’re after is to book early—especially during busy periods. That said, if your chosen vehicle isn’t available, we’ll work hard to find you a great alternative that suits your needs.
Can I use toll roads in a Tradie Rentals vehicle?
Yes, you can—but please note that our vehicles do not come fitted with an eTag. We strongly recommend setting up a toll road pass before using any toll roads.
If a toll notice is received for your rental, the toll amount will be charged to the card on file, along with a $15.00 administration fee per infringement.
Are there any activities or uses that are not allowed with a Tradie Rentals vehicle?
Yes, to ensure the quality and safety of our vehicles for all customers, the following are strictly prohibited—no exceptions:
• No off-road driving
• No smoking inside the vehicle
• No pets inside the vehicle

Can I add an extra driver to my Tradie Rentals booking?
Yes, an extra driver can be added at no additional cost—it’s included free of charge. The extra driver must be added before the rental begins, and they’ll need to present a valid driver’s licence at the time of pick-up.
